1. Q:How can I buy that cool chair I saw on your instagram?
A: The best way is to come to our shop in Heyri Art Village, Paju. If you are unable to visit, shoot us a DM.
1. Q: 인스타그램에 올라와있는 의자는 어떻게 구매하나요?
A: 빈티지 제품의 특성상 헤이리 오프라인 샾에 오셔서 직접 보시고 구매 하시기를 추천드립니다. 부득이한 상황에서 방문이 어려우실 때 DM 을 보내 시거나 전화로 상담을 하실 수 있으나, 오프라인 손님으로 매장 직원들이 바쁠 경우에는 대답이 늦어질 수도 있습니다.
2. Q: What is the difference between GUVS / OPEN MARKET / NEW RELEASE DAY?
A: GUVS is short for GU Vintage Shop. Under GUVS we held OPEN MARKETs. OPEN MARKET was held 4 times a year for 4 days. (due to COVID-19, we have currently halted all OPEN MARKET activities)
NEW RELEASE DAY is a concept based marketing device to promote the upcoming furniture collection’s arrival.

A: OPEN MARKET은 1년에 4번 4일간 파주 창고에서 개최한 마켓 행사 입니다. (코로나 바이러스 감염 위험으로 당분간 행사는 중단하고 있습니다.)
NEW RELEASE DAY는 한 두달의 기간을 가지고 헤이리샵으로 새로운 컨테이너에서 빈티지 가구 제품이 입고되는 날이며, 매 볼륨마다 다른 컨셉을 가지고 있습니다.
3. Q: how do you choose who to collaborate with?
A: collaborations happen when like-minded (individuals/ brands) come together to create a beneficial, complimentary partnership. We are attracted to progressive and energetic, established and emerging companies and persons who share our values community, healthy economics and share interest in stories, design and artistic aesthetics
3. Q: 콜라보 할 개인/브랜드는 어떻게 선택하나요?
A: 비슷한 생각을 가진 사람들(개인/브랜드)이 함께 모여 유익하고, 상호 보완적인 파트너쉽을 만들 수 있을 가능성이 있을 때 먼저 요청을 하거나, 혹은 그러한 분들이 먼저 요청을 하셨을 때 협업을 하게 됩니다. 중견기업이거나 이제 막 시작한 스타트업에 상관 없이 진보적이고 활력이 넘치고, 저희가 가진 가치 공동체, 건강한 경제를 공유하고 이야기, 디자인, 예술 미학에 관심을 가지고 있는 분들에게 매력을 느낍니다.
4. Q: Where do you source all your finds?
A: Discovering these cool pieces is fun but its also exhausting. We drive to far locations, we go to fairs, visit local shops, attend long auctions and through other dealers, we are able to find the perfect addition to our shop.

A: 멋진 빈티지 제품들을 구하는 일은 재미있고, 흥분되는 일이기도 하지만 엄청난 에너지를 쏟는 일이기도 합니다. 오랜 시간 기다려야 하는 경매, 빈티지 페어, 그리고 가격이 맞으면 주위의 딜러들을 통해서 구입합니다. 오랜 역사를 가지고 있는 미국 동부의 중부 뉴저지에 위치해 있어서 남쪽으로는 버지니아 주까지, 북쪽으로는 매사추세츠주 까지에 이르는 곳으로 다니고 있습니다. 새로운 밴을 최근에 구입해서 더 먼 중부 도시들까지 도전해 보려고 해요 :) .
5. Q: what is your approach to curating the pieces you sell?
A: We approach sourcing from the perspective of our interest. Stories of the product and the stories of the designers. We also like furniture that has aged over time (patina) as opposed to that made-to-look-new aesthetic.
5. Q: 어떻게 판매하는 제품을 선별하나요?
A : 현재의 대중적인 트렌드나 인기보다 소싱에 대해 저희가 좋아하는 것, 저희가 보는 관점에서의 트렌드, 무었이 흥미롭게 느껴지는지, 제품이나 그 뒤에 있는 디자이너는 어떤 스토리를 제공하는지 등의 관점에서 접근합니다.
또한 새로운 미학을 위해 재구성 된 것 보다 시간이 지나 그윽한 멋(patina)을 담고 있는 가구들을 좋아합니다.
6. Q: I see a Cesca chair that I like, do you have it in ebony?
A: Because we deal with vintage furniture, we can't order additional stock, we can't customize the colors, we don't know when we will be able to find that same item ever again. We can try to keep a look-out for a particular item you might be interested in but we can't give you any guarantees and we are not in the business of being a personal shopper. We collect, curate and sell furniture and pieces that we find cool, and hopefully you will find it interesting as well!
6. Q: 인스타그램에서 나무색의 세스카 체어를 보았습니다. 어두운 색으로도 주문 할 수 있을까요?
A: 저희는 한정 된 수량의 오리지널 빈티지 가구 (시대상이 잘 드러나 있는 오래된 가구)를 취급하고 있기 때문에 색상이나 수량을 원하시는대로 주문받을 수가 없습니다. 또 가지고 있던 재고가 판매가 되면 또 언제 나올지 저희도 예상할 수가 없기 때문에 저희가 재고를 가지고 있지 않은 제품에 대해서는 선예약을 받을 수 없습니다. 저희는 저희가 보기에 멋지다고 생각하는 빈티지 가구들을 고르고, 모으고 판매하고 있습니다. 여러분들도 좋아하시기를 바라면서요!
7. Q: Why are some vintage items more expensive than the new ones?
A: As most will notice, we take pride in having one of the friendliest prices around. We are able to do this by doing all our own sourcing, years of experience to make our logistics the most efficient and relying on a network of friends for help. We also believe that good design is something that should be shared with as many people as possible. Making prices affordable is the best way to accomplish this.
With that said, some of our rarer examples that have historical context, are no longer in production or are collectible items will tend to be priced higher than their newer counterparts. Its similar to buying an original canvas artwork or a limited edition print. Even though the print is newer and cleaner, it will never be more collectible than the older original : )
7. Q: 왜 어떤 빈티지 가구들은 새 제품보다 더 비싼가요?
A: 많은 빈티지 가구들은 새 제품보다 저렴합니다. 처음 제가 빈티지를 접했던 이유이기도 했구요. 그리고 많은 분들이 알고 계신 것처럼 저희가 취급하는 빈티지 제품 가격은 꽤 합리적이기도 합니다. 다년간의 경험으로 미국 현지에서의 소매상들과 경쟁하면서 제품을 도매로 구하고, 아웃소싱 없이 직접 한국으로 보내서 판매하기 때문에 이런 가격이 가능하게 되었습니다. 좋은 디자인을 여러분과 좋은 가격에 나누고 싶다는 저희의 바램의 실천이기도 하구요. 하지만, 역사적인 가치가 있고,
더이상 생산을 하고 있지 않기 때문에서 가격이 비싼 빈티지 제품이 있습니다. 새 제품들보다도 두 세 배에서 열 배가 넘기도 하는 제품들도 있는데, 유명한 작가의 오리지널 페이팅 작품이나, 프린트 수가 제한된 리미티드 판화나 사진을 생각해 보시면 될거 같아요.
